Picture #1

Picture #3
I went to Omori, Tokyo at the end of October. Omori is the place I had lived for ten years before I got married. There are a lot of memories at the town.

Picture #1
Sanno elementary school has buildings and a hard surface athletics track field. An athletic meeting was held on the day.

Picture #2
The tree at the flower shop grew faaaaar bigger than before. I think they could not cut the tree down, instead they caved their shop wall. lol.

Picture #3
There were quite a few public bath houses in Tokyo long ago. The bath house I visited several times was still standing there.

Business Trip To Tokyo

I made a business trip to CANON headquarters in Tokyo to attend the seminar of software development technology last week.
The seminar was fruitful for my daily work, but not interesting enough to post an article about it on my blog.

On my way to the headquarters, I made a short visit to Ebisu which was one of my most favorite towns in Tokyo. There were a lot of beautiful flowers and high rise buildings.
I took pictures for a couple of hours there.
If you like taking pictures and have a chance to visit Ebisu, never miss to visit Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography. You can enjoy watching a bunch of pictures.

College Reunion Party

After walking together with Michel and Keita to the area near Utsunomiya station, I hopped on a train heading to Tokyo to join a reunion party of college photography club.

I was a member of photography club in my college.
It was five years ago that the club reunion party was held last time.

Twenty people gathered to the party that was held in Ochanomiz. One of campuses of my alma mater is located in Ochanomizu about a five-minute train ride from Tokyo station.

Most people joined the party had come to the party five years ago. They looked far different from they looked in college days, but amazingly not changed from five years ago.

To think about their characters, either good or strange, I felt that most of them had not lost their own characters that they had in their youth, even about thirty years had passed.

I met some of the members for the first time at the party.

I was very happy that I could talk with those who were once in the same college photography club and never talked with in my adolescence, since they had already graduated before I entered the college.

We were really enjoyed eating, drinking, talking, laughing, singing, exchanging ideas and, of course, taking pictures at the party.

We all promised to keep our health good and have a party five years later again.

Hakone Ekiden Road Race

I went to Tokyo to watch Hakone Ekiden, a long-distance relay or a road race, with my daughter Rina and mother-in-law Noriko yesterday and the day before yesterday.

Hakone Ekiden is one of the most popular Ekiden in Japan, which features teams of students from various Japanese universities.

Rina is a great fun of a long-distance road race and also a member of Utsunomiya municipal Ekiden team.

She was so excited to watch the race that even ran with the ekiden runners. I thought that it was good for her to feel the first class runners' running speed by herself.

We all enjoyed watching the live race very much.

I wish all visitors of this blog a happy new year.

Business Trip to Tokyo

I went on a business trip to Tokyo last week to attend a seminar on semiconductor production process engineering. I’m a member of software development department of semiconductor equipment in my company, CANON.

Even being on the wrong side of forty, I feel satisfied with learning something new. I like playing tennis, web surfing, taking pictures, biking, camping, … Last but not least, learning new things or acquiring new knowledge always gives me great satisfaction.

I can’t post pictures of the seminar but instead, post the pictures of Tokyo in which I lived for eighteen years.

Rain, Rain, Rain...Business Trip to Tokyo

I went to Tokyo on business yesterday and the day before yesterday. I attended a seminar of software development: that is about the standard of communication protocol between semiconductor production equipment. Learning new things is always fun to me and gives me power.

I’m working as a system engineer in my company. I had been in charge of a new project that would be completed in early 2008. But it was discontinued, judged by company’s top executives few months ago. It was sad not only for me but also for other members. Though, thanks to the cancellation of the project, I’m able to spend my working time more for learning, doing research and writing patents at my discretion.

Anyway, after the two-day-long fruitful lectures, I went to a photo gallery in Shinjuku one day and bookstores in Ochanomizu the other day. Those two towns are among my most favorites.
I took several pictures of rainy Tokyo.

Where do you think I am?

Where do you think I am? It's not a zoo, nor an amusement park. It’s a restaurant called Rainforest Café. It’s in IKSPIARI of Tokyo Disney Resort, Maihama, Chiba-prefecture.
I went there a couple weeks ago and had a wonderful time with my family. When I went to Las Vegas few years ago, I also went to Rainforest Café there. There were lightening and squalls every ten to fifteen minutes and man-made animals in the restaurants moved every few minutes. They served delicious food and took good care of customers. It’s worth visiting!

A small summer festival in downtown Tokyo

Rina eats an apricot candy. Behind her, you can see colorful small balloons. Kids try to fish balloons with a hook and a paper made line. This picture was taken in Tabata, Tokyo.
